This is a software tool that turns the Outlook into a teamwork tool, with ability to share its facilities.
CodeTwo Public Folders turns your Microsoft Outlook into a work-group tool. Whether on your enterprise LAN or the home group this will let you share emails, contacts, calendar, tasks and office documents. You could have similar functionality with MS products too. However, you`ll have to buy and use the expensive MS Exchange product. CodeTwo Public Folders lets you share personal folders and create public folders in Outlook. With the sharing setup, many of your partners would be able to share all these details and let all of them work much more effectively. The tool will let the Outlook clients to get synchronized automatically. As this gets done in the background, users need not even be aware of it. The synchronization takes care of calendars, contacts, email, tasks etc.
Once shared, the set up lets you set up meetings easily, ensuring everyone is aware of the meeting time and agenda for it. It allows everyone to do their homework and arrive at effective decisions at the meeting. Everybody also works from the same page, kind of, as they work with common address book, contact base, share personal folders, etc. Who gets to see the details are controlled. Administrators set up the access rights to make sure access is managed well. The integration of the product is seamless and thus users need not even be aware there is another product working. All that the users would be aware are of the enhanced sharing features but, need not learn anything new. The product enables users work off-line, much the same way MS Exchange will let them do. The product supplies a range of features that are useful, without a doubt, and it is much less expensive than the Exchange.
